March 27 proved to be another successful Opening Day for the East Contra Costa Historical Society’s Museum.

Under the very capable direction of Dave and Joyce DeCato, the museum featured several new exhibits and displays. Vendors were on hand to offer their wares, and several organizations provided information on their services. The owners of many vintage autos also participated and the newly restored Byron Fire Truck was the backdrop for photo taking of the children who attended.

ECCHS wishes to express our sincere thanks to: Brentwood Café for the donation of the hot dogs, buns and condiments; Rotarian Ed Ferraro and his crew for the barbecuing; Altered Canvas of Antioch for providing the music; Rich and Rita Curtis for donating sodas and their labor; all of the car owners and vendors who participated; and the many members who volunteered their time.

Please visit our Museum, located at 3890 Sellers Ave. It is open from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and the third Sunday of the month until October. If you wish to become a member of East Contra Costa Historical Society, please contact Joyce Strand at 925-240-5797.
