In addition to the family picnic and entertainment, Jeremy Newberry Day will feature Jeremy and guest coaches and players from his days in youth football and college, plus his NFL career with the Niners, Raiders and Chargers. The festivities will take place at the museum’s schoolyard.
The program begins at 1:30 p.m., the entertainment and picnic social at 2:30, and a barbecue at 4. The Jeremy Newberry Day program and entertainment are free; tickets to the barbecue – which must be purchased in advance – are $20 for adults; $10 for children 12 years and under. All proceeds from the picnic benefit the Museum’s Sports Legends program and scholarship program.
Shaded seating will be provided for all barbecue ticketholders; complimentary lawn seating for non-ticket holders. Barbecue tickets are on sale at three Antioch locations: the Antioch Historical Museum, 1500 W. Fourth St., Wednesday or Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. (925-757-1326); the El Campanil Theatre ticket office, 602 W.
