‘Idol’ slated for Sunday

The Antioch Music Foundation will present the third East County Idol competition at the Antioch’s El Campanil Theatre on Sunday, April 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. Radio personality Kim Dooley will emcee the show, which features finalists chosen from 11 East County high schools.

The repertoire includes ballads, Broadway, folk, gospel, jazz, pop, rock, and country and western. Charlene Lewis, the 2008 Idol winner, will be part of the musical program.

Tickets are $10, and may be purchased at the door or by calling the El Campanil box office at 925-757-9500 or Walter Ruehlig at 925-756-7628.

Proceeds benefit school musical enrichment field trips.
