Denis Yoshio Nishihara of Roseville, a native of Maui, Hawaii, went home to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday, April 4.

Denis was born on March 10, 1938 in Lahaina, Hawaii. His family knew him to be a great and honorable man. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Lorna Mae Nishihara; three sons, Denis Y. (Lisa) Nishihara II, Todd M. (Trish) Nishihara and Russell E. Nishihara; two daughters, Jodie (Ted) Vida and Denise Stack; one brother, Francis Benz; three sisters, Punani Hauki, Clara Mae Lindsey and Charlene Kulukulualani; 14 grandchildren,; three great-grandchildren; and a plethora of extended family and friends.

The family would like to say thank you very much for the excellent care Denis received from the Sutter Roseville Medical Center ICU Unit, the CCU Team at Sutter Memorial Hospital Sacramento, the Sutter Heart and Vascular Institute Team, Dr. Xu, Dr. Kincaide, Dr. Chin, Dr. Wampold,

Dr. Ang, Carol Lee, Denis’ new friend Vince, who always made him smile, and all that came to know this great man of God.

A memorial service was held April 8 at King’s Chapel in Antioch.
