The U.S. Naval facility at Suisun Bay, which transports supplies and munitions to all points of the globe, is the site of the National Defense Reserve Fleet – the so-called Mothball Fleet – nearly 80 World War II era battleships, destroyers and merchant ships.

Delta Discovery Cruises is offering tours of the fleet, highlighting the rich history of one of the largest reserve fleet of ships ever assembled, and navigating as close as 500 feet to such steel icons of our nation’s naval prowess as the legendary battleship USS Iowa. A local historian will be will serve as narrator for the tour.

The City of San Francisco is in the process of dismantling the fleet and has already removed 20 ships over the last few years. Delta Discovery Cruises’ unique tour will be a memorable experience that might not be available in the future.

Tours are scheduled for Saturday, April 24; Wednesday, May 5; Saturday, May 29; Monday, June 7; and Tuesday, June 29. Tickets are $55, and include the four-hour tour plus a three-course hot lunch. For reservations, call 925-252-9300 or visit www.deltadiscoverycruises.com.
