Contra Costa County District 5 Supervisor Federal D. Glover sponsors an annual summit for the county’s youth, uniting sixth- through 12th-graders with local dignitaries, youth mentors and community leaders for a day of career preparedness, self-awareness and entertainment.

The event is a community effort to build healthy attributes such as self-esteem, honesty and integrity in order to help young people build a foundation for success. The interactive workshops provided at the summit enhance life skills, assist with career development and provide a venue for healthy, appropriate activities that reduce the risk of undesirable behavior.

The summit will be held Saturday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Los Medanos College, 2700 E. Leland Road in Pittsburg, For more information, visit www.myspace.com/youthsummit2010.
