After losing three starters from last year’s team, the Ajax United East Bay 97Girls competitive soccer team (formerly the Delta Xplosion) has started the new season with an impressive 5-0-1 record.

After its remarkable 54-13-7 season last year – which included six tournament championships – Ajax United East Bay 97G claimed its first championship of the year at the Manteca International Spring Invitationals. It included a 6-1 victory against United Academy of Nevada, a 5-0 win over the hosting Manteca Rangers and a 4-0 shutout of the Nevada Patriots of Reno.

In the championship game against PAFC Synergy, the East Bay girls finally put a goal away with a minute left in the game to win the championship 1-0.

The Ajax United East Bay 97Girls comprise players from Brentwood, Antioch and Oakley. Girls who turn 14 after Aug. 1 and are interested in playing competitive soccer are invited to call Ed at 415-794-2165.
