Tom Laliberte wasn’t able to make it to his heat race in the Wingless Sprints at the Antioch Speedway the past weekend. As a result of missing the heat, he was required to start last in the main event.

That didn’t seem to faze the hard-charging sprint car driver, as he passed all the rest of the field to win the 20-lap feature race. John Gerber took second and Billy Macedo picked up third money in the 15-racer lineup. Laliberte has been battling for the point lead in the wingless sprints, and the victory should help his cause.

Another driver who shone on the four-division program was Travis Dutra in the Mini Trucks. He started off by winning his heat, which advanced him to the trophy dash. He took the checkered flag and made it three-for-three with a Main Event triumph.

Wingless Sprints: Heat Winners – David Press and Don Gonderman; Main Event – Tom Laliberte, John Gerber and Billy Macedo.

Dwarf Cars: Heat Winners – Tony Carmignani and Ricardo Rivera; Main Event – Rivera, Ed Johnson and Nick Squatritto.

Mini Trucks: Heat Winners – Travis Dutra and Jon Haney; Trophy Dash – Dutra; Main Event – Dutra, Tom Brown and Haney.

Super Stocks: Heat Winner – Mike Gustafson; Main Event – Fred Ryland, Mitch Machado and Larry Damitz.
