We are writing this letter to give a huge thank-you to the following people who contributed their time and talents or with generous donations to make the Byron Union School District’s first Parent University Day an incredible success.

We were additionally honored to have as luncheon guests that day United States Congressman Jerry McNerney and California Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan. Entertainment was provided by the Children’s Folklorico Dancers and the Delta One Martial Arts.

As the State of California struggles to balance the budget, forcing draconian cuts to our schools, it is especially nice to find reason to celebrate, and we were truly inspired by the dedication of our staff along with the commitment and desire to learn and belong demonstrated by our parent community as we continue to grow our district family.

We thank you: Delta Valley Athletic Club, Boardwalk Bar & Grille, Discovery Bay Country Club, Oakland A’s Organization, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Migrant Education, Delta Water Conservation Group, Delta 2 Gates Alliance, Discovery Play School, PTA of Discovery Bay and Timber Point elementary schools, Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department and volunteer supporters, Lisa McBride and the Special Kids Foundation and Willie Martin.
