In an effort to take advantage of the depressed price of foreclosed homes for a good cause, Habitat for Humanity has launched a new foreclosure rehab program in neighborhoods affected by the real estate crisis. By purchasing and rehabilitating existing foreclosed houses, Habitat can provide ownership opportunities for limited-income families.
Habitat plans to renovate eight homes in Bay Point over the next year as part of the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program. An invitation has gone out to those who would like to help rehabilitate the buildings.
