East County residents are invited to line the curbs and celebrate the birth of our nation at Antioch’s 2010 Fourth of July Parade.

The parade gets rolling at 1 p.m. from the corner of Somersville Road and Fairview Drive in the southeast corner of Somersville Towne Center, proceeds around the perimeter of the center on the Fairview side, around the northwest entrance to the mall and climaxes in the center of the mall with a performance of patriotic songs by the Temple Hill Chorus. The parade is sponsored by Kiwanis Club of the Delta-Antioch, Allied Waste and Macerich – Somersville Towne Center.

Those wishing to participate in the parade still have time to sign up. For more information or a parade application, call Antioch Councilmember Martha Parsons at 925-890-2665, Susan Davis at 925-757-2020, or visit www.art4antioch.org/docs/2010parade-application.pdf.
