As the point season comes to a close, the Golden State Challenge King of California powerful 410 winged sprint cars invade the Antioch Speedway Saturday night – the 21st round of competition in the 24-race series over western speedways.

Jonathan Allard will head 24 drivers in the equivalent of World of Outlaws racecars. Allard won the previous race over the Antioch track back in April and is the current point leader.

His chief competition is expected to come from the Kaeding clan – dad Brent and his two sons, Bud and Tim. Brent has dominated the circuit, winning his first championship in 1988 and adding 12 more division titles to his portfolio.

In the current season, Brent Kaeding is second to Allard in points and has finished in the top 10 in main events 18 times. Many of his outstanding races have come on the Antioch track.

Tim Kaeding has split his racing experiences this year between the West Coast and Midwest. He holds five main event titles, including three last month, on the 2010 Golden State Challenge circuit, while Bud holds down eighth place in the point standings.

The top area contender is Petaluma teenager Allisa Gevings, who ranks seventh on the circuit ladder.
