Girl Scout Troop 31542 of Discovery Bay recently completed its Junior Bronze Award and Junior Leadership Award this year.

For their Bronze Award, the girls built and donated two bookshelves and an art easel to the Discovery Preschool at Timber Point Elementary.

To complete the earning of their Junior Leadership Award, they partnered with Village Nurseries, their families and Timber Point Principal Brian Burnight to plant eight new trees at the school.

The girls, their families and Burnight dug the eight holes, and Village Nurseries delivered the trees, dirt, poles and provided instructions on how to plant the trees properly.

The girls did a fantastic job and showed the community what Girl Scouting is all about: giving back to the community.
