The Oakley Recreation Division offers a variety of classes to children, adults and seniors throughout the community and is looking to expand its offerings. The division is seeking qualified independent contractors to teach recreation classes for spring/summer class sessions, so if you have an interesting hobby or skill that you’d like to share with others, or a sport or camp you’d like to offer, call Recreation Technician Cindy Coelho at 925-625-7044 or e-mail coelho@ci.oakley.ca.us.

The Recreation Division is specifically looking for programs for school-age children during school breaks. Teaching a class can be easy and flexible to fit your schedule. For examples of current classes, visit www.oakleyinfo.com.

Be on the lookout for the Fall/Winter Recreation Guide, to be distributed through the Oakley Press at the end of August. The Recreation Guide will include information on favorite returning events such as Harvest Festival, Fishing Derby, Christmas Tree Lighting and Breakfast with Santa. The Guide also features new and returning classes including fencing, karate and ballet. Online classes will be introduced in the guide as well.
