Nancy was born on July 3, 1933 in Wisconsin. After school, she moved to San Francisco to train formally as a Christian Science nurse, and met her husband, John. As she continued her nursing career, they raised four children before John’s death in 1974. Nancy re-married 10 years later and lived in Reno, Nev. until her second husband’s death in 1997. She retired to Brentwood in 2000 to be near her family.
Nancy will be remembered in her community as the lady buzzing about town in her electric wheelchair and butterfly pillow. She truly enjoyed the small-town events such as Brentwood’s Farmers’ Market and the annual CornFest. She loved sewing and quilting, and often spoke of the good friends she played bingo and dominoes with in her retirement community.
Nancy wasn’t one to complain about her disability; rather, she looked for the silver lining and was an inspiration to any that knew her. She was a wonderful friend, big sister, devoted wife and a loving mother.
In celebration of Nancy’s life, please smile at someone today, pet a dog or hug a friend. Nancy would have liked that!
