A row of Corvettes glimmers in the sun at a recent show attended by the Discovery Bay Corvette Club.

About two dozen of the ’Vettes will be on hand to glimmer up this year’s final Downtown Thursday event on First Street in Brentwood next week.

Mayor Bob Taylor will also be on hand, allowing visitors a chance to either tell him he’s all wet or get him that way: he’ll be sitting in a dunk tank, raising money for the Brentwood Rotary. The fun starts at 5 p.m.
