Bryce Starratt, a lifetime resident of Discovery Bay and 2005 Liberty High School graduate, completed U.S. Army Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Okla. in August of 2009.

Bryce was selected as the Distinguished Honor Graduate from a class of 240. He went on to earn the Distinguished Honor Graduate selection again in his Advanced Individual Training.

After graduating from Liberty, Bryce attended Sacramento City College, where he played baseball for the Panthers. He set what is believed to be a California State Community College record of 10 RBIs – four of which came off a grand slam homer – in a single game. Bryce went on to play at Oregon State University, where he is currently a senior majoring in sports nutrition and exercise science.

He is also enrolled in the ROTC program and will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the National Guard upon graduation.

Bryce hopes to work with a professional sports team as a strength and conditioning coordinator, balancing his time with the National Guard.
