Due to an insert scheduling snafu, the City of Oakley's new Fall/Winter Recreation Guide will be delivered with next week's Oakley Press, not this week's. For those who'd like to get a look at it now, you can download the guide in PDF form by clicking here.

Summer is coming to a close, but there is no reason for fun in the sun to take a backseat.

Oakley’s Fall/Winter Recreation Guide offers a variety of classes, activities and events to participate in to keep the fun meter running on high.

This season, Oakley Recreation is offering online courses through a partnership with ed2go.com. The online education center offers career and professional courses, computer and technology classes, writing and publishing classes and personal development classes such as math, science, and language skills. These courses are completed solely online so you can sit down for a lesson whenever it is convenient for you.

As always, the Rec Guide features details about new and returning youth and adult classes as well as upcoming events, including the Almond Festival, a Guitar Hero Tournament, the Oakley Harvest Festival, Breakfast with Santa and the Oakley Tree Ceremony.

For more information about classes and events for the upcoming season, call the Oakley Recreation Division at 925-625-7044 or 925-625-7042.
