There’s still time to grab your beach chairs and head on out to the Extreme Water and Air Show on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Orwood Resort in Brentwood.

The annual event raises funds for the Royal Family Kids’ Camps, a nonprofit organization that sponsors summer camps for abused and neglected children. But the fun-under-the-sun party also offers residents a firsthand look at world-class water and air acts.

“Each year just gets bigger and better,” said event organizer and world record barefoot water skier Mike Temby. “And the best part is that the event allows everyone to change the path of a child’s life. It’s a wonderful thing.”

This year the show will include exhibitions by Teresa Wallace, the world’s fastest female barefoot water skier, Jerry Kanawyer, six-time national champion barefoot water skier, and Temby, a three-time western U.S. trick barefoot water skier and current world record-holding tandem speed barefoot skier.

Also on hand will be skydiving teams, wakeboarders and an exhibition by the Patriot Jet Team and 100 mph drag boat performances. Extra special guests include the Raiderettes and performances by the Portland Waterski Spectacular Show Ski Team.

Tickets for the event are $5; no charge for children 6 and under. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs. “The whole idea is to treat everyone like royalty and to make sure it’s a success,” said Temby. “It’s a great day for families with Marine World caliber exhibitions. It’s a lot of fun.”
