Believing that it’s never too late to say “thank you,” it is with deepest sentiment that heartfelt gratitude goes out to those who touched and continue to touch our lives since our family tragedy early in August.

First and foremost, we wish to extend a huge thank you to the Brentwood Police Department for its quick, courteous and sensitive handling of the situation. We deepen that with gratitude for police chaplains Joel Bryant (pastor of The East Bay Pentecostals) and Ed Spano (deacon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church). Their desire to stay with us and comfort us for as long as we needed meant more than words can express. They continue to service us in our needs.

We also wish to extend a huge thank you to the staff at Loma Vista Elementary (including Sunshine) and WeeCare Preschool (Pastor Mike Lange) for their sensitivity and generosity toward meeting the needs of the children. Without them, it would have been extremely difficult for the children to adjust normally.

Finally, we cannot begin to thank all the neighbors who came to our needs immediately. Their willingness to tend to the house, prepare a banquet of sorts for the memorial service and continue to see that we are never left alone, that they are there for us at our beck and call, is priceless. Without doubt, this neighborhood is an “All-American Neighborhood” and with honors.

Please accept a most sincere thank-you to all and may God bless!

The Kernan family, Brentwood
