County seeks cemetery district applications

The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applications from individuals who are interested in serving on the Byron-Brentwood-Knightsen Union Cemetery District. The district is responsible for establishing rates to be charged for burials within cemeteries of District III that will allow graves to be maintained on a self-supporting basis, for preparing and maintaining maps detailing information about lots, and for keeping records of all remains interred in the cemeteries. The term of office for this position is 4 years.

Applicants for this position must be voters in the district An application form may be obtained from the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by calling 925-335-1900 or by visiting the County Web page at www.co.contra-costa.ca.us.

Completed applications should be returned to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Room 106, County Administration Building, 651 Pine Street, Martinez, CA 94553, no later than Tuesday, Oct.12.
