The Delta Patriots Starts East team took home a huge victory this past weekend against the Galt Jr. Warriors, 35-22.

The Patriots made excellent plays offensively and defensively. Blake Capurro notched a 70-yard run for a touchdown on the second offensive play to set the tone for the morning. It was one of three touchdowns for Capurro throughout the game.

Despite entering halftime trailing the Warriors 22-15, the East came back solid to defeat Galt. Quarterback Greg Filardo and Caden Lewis scored a touchdown each to seal the win against the Warriors. The defense played tough football, highlighted by excellent moves by Jaden Harvey, Brenden Howard, Joey Storey and Nathan Stansbery.

Starts West run wild at Tokay

Jake Byrne pounded the ball all day behind fierce blocking by J.D. Glenn, Dayton Dumag, Forrest Johnson, Rylie Wolfe, Dimitri Charitou and Corbin Cardwell. West went on to win 37-6 and improve its record to 5-1. The Starts West defense shut down the Tokay Offense on every drive but the opening series. Dominic Guay led the way, making tackles all over the field.

Tokay Jr. Tigers 20, Delta Patriots Varsity West 14

Despite a late comeback, Delta Patriots Varsity West fell short on the road 20-14 to the Tokay Jr. Tigers.

West wide receiver Cade Bonte pulled down a five-yard touchdown pass from Alex Hull, tying the game with 1:30 to go. The Tigers responded by driving straight down the field and scoring on a 35-yard run with 33 seconds on the clock to salvage the victory.

The game featured a breakout performance by Patriots West defensive tackle Brandon Gliedt, including a sack and strong pressure on the Tiger quarterback. West flanker Dylan Capps pulled down four catches for 75 yards to spark the offense.

Patriots push ahead in battle with Warriors

The Delta Patriots JV East team traveled to Galt to take on the Jr. Warriors in the heat of Central Valley. The stands went wild as the Patriots took the lead with a game-winning 63-yard touchdown run by Spencer Rohrer. Justin Dam also contributed with TD runs of 67 and 14 yards, the second of which was sprung by the downfield blocking of Brooklyn Hardiman. Ethan Sabal displayed his skills as receiver with several snags in heavy coverage.

The tenacious Patriot defense fought hard the whole game. Sacks by Santiago Ramirez and Adam Morris, as well as a key fumble recovery by Garrett Alcorn, led the defense. Buoyed by the win, the East looks forward to its next game in two weeks against the Weston Ranch Ravens.
