Over the past 10 weeks, middle and high school age youth have been working with industry professional on art, writing, photography, and videography through our event called, Youth Expression Project (YEP), which is through the non-proft, One Day at a Time (ODAT). ODAT's mission is to provide youth with hope, support, and opportunity by building meaningful connections and relationships, while envisioning a world where youth are safe, connected, self-empowered, inspired, and heard. Our YEP program's mission is aimed at enhancing youth's communication abilities, developing an understanding of their thoughts on issues impacting them, and providing their voices with a community-wide platform from which to be heard and supported. YEP was designed to help students learn to express themselves in healthy ways through artistic means (art, photo, film, writing), as opposed to turning to anger, withdrawal, violence, drugs, etc. This is our 3rd year running YEP, and this event is to celebrate the youth's projects created relating to advocacy and change they hope to see in our community. We hope to see you there!
