After a long hiatus, the Redmen pancake breakfast is returning to the Redmen & Pocahontas Hall, 1371 Main St., Oakley on May 5 from 7am to 11am.

Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes and a drink for $7. The money earned is a fundraiser for local charities.

Redmen is a national organization founded prior to the American Revolution and includes tribes in many states. A women's auxiliary is called the Degree of Pocahontas. The motto of both is Freedom, Friendship and Charity.

The local Redmen is named Wahoo Tribe 194 and is a consolidation of other tribes from Sacramento, Stockton, Concord and Oakley. It is open to men 18 and up who wish to enjoy the friendship of others and working for charity.
