Henry Panpojo hangs art from the Banner Up! program on a lamppost at First and Chestnut streets in Brentwood, Tuesday, June 5.

The program provides local artists the opportunity to create original public art on 58 vinyl banners that are hung throughout Brentwood’s downtown during the months of June, July and August. The banners, all painted with original designs, will be on display at Oak, First, Second and Chestnut streets, as well as City Park. They will then be showcased at the Brentwood Community Center Center, 35 Oak Street, during September, for the public to enjoy.

A gala benefit auction will be held September 27, at the Brentwood Community Center from 6-9 p.m. The Brentwood Library Foundation has been selected as the recipient of 50 percent of the silent auction proceeds.
