Oakley and Iron House Elementary Schools are serving free healthy lunches to kids and teenagers ages 2 to 18 through July 17, with the exception of July 4 and 5.
The initiative, part of the Summer Meal Program, aims to help students receive adequate nutrition during summer break. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Iron House Elementary, located at 4801 Frank Hengel Way, will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Oakley Elementary, located at 501 Norcross Lane, will serve lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
No qualifications or enrollment is required to participate. Children who have not yet started kindergarten should be accompanied by an adult.
