Relay For Life of Antioch kicked off its 2014 campaign last week by announcing that this year’s event, Antioch’s 15th American Cancer Society fundraiser, will be decided to Judy Trapanese, a breast cancer survivor who helped bring Relay For Life to Antioch in 1999.
“Judy has a true passion for supporting cancer survivors and their families and caregivers,” said Michele Littlefield, this year’s event chair. “For many of us, she has been a shoulder to lean on, a source of advice and, if needed, she'll give us a little kick in the pants.
"She always has a hug and kiss waiting with your name on it, and she remembers everything about what’s going on with you or your family member. This year the Relay For Life of Antioch Planning Committee decided to dedicate our entire Relay season to Judy Trapanese to honor her for all she has given to so many.”
This year’s event is scheduled for June 21 and 22 at Deer Valley High School, 4700 Lone Tree Way in Antioch.
