Social Talk about town logo

Parenthood has two big transitions, when our children arrive and when they leave. There has been a lot of social talk about recent graduates and the next steps these young adults will be taking as they move on to a new chapter in their lives.

A lot of parents are turning to social media, seeking advice on how to send their kids off to college successfully this fall. Whether students are moving far away or staying close to home to attend college, there are steps parents can take to make the transition easier and some of the advice given includes teaching your child how to do their own laundry, making sure they have basic banking skills and, for those kids heading off to college without a car, a good lesson on how to navigate public transportation. Watching your kids grow up and leave the nest can be difficult, but it’s all part of the process called parenting.
