Here’s a big shout out to Antioch Mayor Wade Harper, who acted quickly and efficiently after witnessing a three-car crash late Tuesday night. According to KRON4 news, Harper was driving home from a city council meeting when a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed sideswiped a car and rear ended a construction truck occupied by twoCaltrans workers. Harper used a fire extinguisher on the smoking pickup truck and made sure the driver was okay after calling an ambulance. Many thanks to our local hero!

The City of Brentwoodhas extended a friendly reminder that all vehicle parking spaces along downtown roads are limited to two hours. However, there are unrestricted parking lots aside from the parking structure by city hall, if you know where to look. Chestnut Street between Midwayand First Street has one, and there is another, snugly set in the middle of businesses on Brentwood Boulevard, between Maple and Oak Street. You can even park in the dirt lot behind the Chevronon Brentwood Boulevard and Oak Street. For a comprehensive map of parking dos and don’ts, visit www.downtownbrentwood.com.
