Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer Workshop (Tuesdays April 8 through July 22)
This 12-week workshop is for women who have just been diagnosed and are either in treatment or starting treatment. This series will help women address the emotional and physical issues that surface after diagnosis. Guest medical experts will present information to the group, which meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Depression and Anxiety: How Much is Too Much?
Psychological and physiological aspects of a cancer diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment periods will be discussed at this workshop on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This presentation is facilitated by Burton Preberg, a psychiatarist who specializes in working with cancer patients and their families.
Managing Symptoms and Side Effects
Learn what you can do to feel better during cancer treatment on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to noon. In this informal workshop, oncology nurse Diana Longacre will discuss methods for managing fatigue, nausea and other treatment side effects.
