Festivities and fundraising efforts continue as the community prepares for the Brentwood Relay for Life.
The first event is a family photo shoot on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with all proceeds donated to Relay for Life Brentwood. The packages are $50 and $75 and require a reservation. For more information or to reserve a package, contact Tammy Nicholl at 925-250-4117.
Team Sasville Properties will host a Gilligan’s Island Castaway Party, April 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner, door prizes, a hosted bar, costume contest and more. Attendees are invited to come dressed as their favorite character from the show. All proceeds benefit Brentwood’s Relay for Life. RSVPs are required. Next, a “Team Tea” will be hosted by team Got Hope. The event, advertised as a “tea with a twist,” is scheduled for April 26 from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Shadow Lakes Event Center, 401 W. Country Club Drive, in Brentwood. The cost, $30 per person, includes a traditional tea lunch, dessert and door prize ticket. A Bunco event will be held at Shadow Lakes Event Center, located at 401 W. Country Club Drive in Brentwood, on May 7 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. There will be food, drinks and raffles at the event. For more information, contact Theresa Byers at 925-550-2150.
It is important to note that the registration workshops previously held at Delta Valley Athletic Club have been moved to Harvest Park Bowl on the last Wednesday of every month from 6:15 to 7 p.m., to coincide with league night at Harvest Park. Attend the workshops to learn how to register a team or an individual relayer, or for additional information on Relay.
The community is also invited to join Relay for Life Antioch as they celebrate cancer survivors, their families, friends and caregivers. Survivor Celebration will be held Saturday April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Deer Valley High School in the front parking lot. The “Day In The Park” will have a car and motorcycle show, raffles, special guest speakers, food and music. Registered survivors will enjoy a lunch and other surprises. Attendance is free. Relay for Life Oakley also has a few team fundraisers coming up.
First, Team Cancer Crushers will be having a give back night at Chili’s, on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 5809 Lone Tree Way, Antioch. The Cancer Crushers will also partner with Ozone Party Rentals for a Customer Appreciation Day, May 13 from 4 to 6 p.m., at Crockett Park, 4150 Richard Way, in Oakley. Luminaria bags will be available for dedication and decoration for memories of loved ones who have lost their fight with cancer, for those who continue to battle the disease and for those who have kicked cancer’s butt. Fans for the Cure is working with Yogurt Island to have a set of fundraisers on April 23 and May 14 from 2 p.m. to close. No flyer needed, just purchase a frozen treat and a portion of the proceeds will go toward the Relay for Life. Yogurt Island is located at 3100 Main St., #282, in Oakley.
