Yvette Gomez of Chill Tea and Coffee

Yvette Gomez is the co-owner of Chill Tea and Coffee, a popular Brentwood café.

From the moment you step through the big red door into Chill Tea and Coffee, it’s apparent you’re not visiting a typical chain-run coffee shop.

Inside, you will always be greeted with a smile, receive a freshly brewed hand-crafted beverage and will most likely see a familiar face at this new café that has become a regular hot spot for local coffee junkies.

The Brentwood bistro is owned and operated by Sal and Yvette Gomez, who have been paving the way with their Chill franchise since May 27, 2017. Since the beginning, Sal and Yvette have worked tirelessly to make their business successful, and with an Instagram following over 1,000 and a constant flow of customers, their hard work has clearly paid off.

As a family-oriented franchise, a big help to Sal and Yvette has always been their two sons who are often at the shop with them as well.

“I have always worked long days and nights in my career, but the biggest difference and a blessing is having my family be a part of it all,” said Yvette Gomez. “Our sons were there from day one when we were just building out the shop – they helped Sal build the counters, and to this day, they come in every day to help in any way they can.”

This well-equipped and dedicated team’s hard work is reflected in their hand-crafted brews that have kept customers coming back for the past 10 months. From their very sweet Strawberry Splash Chill Tea and their extremely addictive Chill Chai to their signature blend pour-over Yay Yay, a wide variety of organic and locally sourced drinks are always available.

“The sincerity the owners share for the love of coffee shows in every cup they make,” said customer Stephanie Younger.

A community-centric business, Chill Tea and Coffee hosted a supply drop-off for victims of the Sonoma and Napa fires in October, and they encouraged customers to give aid to those in need. After several days, the Chill staff filled a semitruck with the collected supplies, which they then delivered to fire victims.

For the Chill staff, tea and coffee is something they love, but their true passion lies with the people they meet through their business.

“The most rewarding part of it all is every time someone stops to thank me for being here, creating our space, giving them a place they feel welcomed,” said Gomez.

Chill Tea and Coffee is located at 60 Eagle Rock Way, Suite A, in Brentwood. For more information, visit www.chillteaandcoffee.com.
