Brentwood Christmas Tree Lighting
The City of Brentwood’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is at the Community Center and City Park, at 35 Oak St., starting at 6 p.m. The free event features music, singing, hot drinks and goodies, with the tree lighting at 7 p.m. and visits with Santa after the lighting. Do your holiday shopping accompanied by live music at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, at 5709 Lone Tree Way, in Antioch, and support the students of the Delta Branch of the Music Teachers Association of California. Students will be playing the piano, flutes and string instruments, along with singing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Special coupons are available, with a percentage of proceeds earned on Dec. 5 to benefit the student scholarship fund. Oakley Christmas Tree Lighting
Oakley’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony commences at 3231 Main St., at 4 p.m. The festivities include performances by the Oakley Elementary School District, Freedom High School choirs and local dance performances. Free cookies, cocoa, children’s crafts and activities are offered. Santa Claus will be on hand to visit with children and pose for family photos. The tree lighting takes place at 6 p.m.
