Summer day camps abound in East County

Oakley’s Summer Blaze Day Camp

Summer Blaze Day Camp is back for another fun-filled summer of water games, sports, arts and crafts and more.

This camp is for ages 6 to 11 and runs for a total of four weeks over the summer break.

This camp is a drop-in program that gives parents the flexibility to bring their children on the days of their choosing. Summer Blaze runs Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on June 18 to 22, June 25 to 29, July 9 to 13 and July 16 to 20. Camp is held on a rotation at three parks in Oakley.

The fee is $12 per day or parents may purchase a five-day punch card for $55. For a camp flyer or more information, call Cindy at 925-625-7044 or email coelho@ci.oakley.ca.us.

Also available, the Youth CORE Summer Camp is designed for youth entering grades 6 to 11.

This service-learning program provides youth the opportunity to help improve their community and have fun. Each morning begins with a community-service activity followed by team building, sports, crafts and more.

Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with two sessions to choose from – Alpha, on June 18 to 29, or Bravo, July 9 to 20. The fee is $70 for Oakley residents and $80 for nonresidents. Preregistration is required and space is limited, so sign up early.
