First and foremost, I am a husband, parent and grandparent. My family homesteaded this area 168 years ago. I graduated from Liberty and joined Brentwood Union School District in 1967 as an elementary and secondary music teacher. I also had math, reading and counseling. I taught a total of 16 years, with nine years music-teaching experience, K-8 and 4-8 counseling, including resource specialist in special education. Six years as a counselor and self-contained 4th grade classroom. I was BUSD Teacher of the Year.
I left BUSD in 1984 to open Geddes Music. Music education was always part of Geddes Music. I joined the BUSD board in 1991. In 1999, I also started a real estate consulting business and added sales agent in 2005. I have been a Brentwood Board member for approximately 17 years.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music from BYU, graduate work in music from UCSF and a master’s in Educational Psychology from USF. I completed USF school counseling and administration credential instruction and was in a doctoral, post-graduate program in Education Administration. I presently hold a life teaching credential.
I have volunteered in Brentwood, including Art Society Board, 80 Volts, Wheelchair Foundation, worked with John Marsh Society, served as auctioneer and MC in numerous events and served on numerous BUSD board committees. I am a passionate child advocate and will always remain involved in educating and caring for the children of Brentwood.
