A Freedom High School student in possession of a knife was arrested today following an on-campus altercation with a fellow student, according to an Oakley police news release.

Oakley police stated that they were presented with still photos from a video that allegedly shows the female in possession of the knife trying to assault a fellow student at around 2 p.m. today, but they have yet to track down the video of the incident.

Freedom High School staff quickly broke up the altercation prior to police arrival and no injuries occurred.

The unidentified student was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a knife was located during the arrest, police said.

Police divulged that there was pre-existing tension between the two students prior to the altercation.

Oakley police request that anyone in possession of a video of the incident to provide it to them for investigation.

“The Oakley Police Department is grateful to the Freedom High School staff for handling the situation quickly before anybody was injured,” police said in a statement.
