Brentwood Police officers arrested a San Francisco man following a vehicle pursuit through downtown Brentwood on Nov. 1.

Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area of Brentwood Boulevard and Balfour Road according to a statement the department posted on its Facebook page. After officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated and rammed his vehicle into a patrol vehicle as he fled. The resulting vehicle pursuit ended in the area of Sycamore Avenue after the suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. Police officers gave chase on foot and took the suspect into custody without further incident after locating him in the backyard of a residence in a nearby neighborhood.

The suspect, later identified as Romell Boyland of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of evading police, resisting arrest, causing injury to a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was also found to be out on bail, leading to another charge.

Police reported no serious injuries.
