Richard Lewis Stockman, my husband, my love, my best friend, died suddenly in his Brentwood, CA home at age 63. He is the father of two wonderful sons: Blake Richard Stockman of San Francisco, CA and Marshal Joseph Stockman of Brentwood, CA. He is survived by his mother Giovanna Assunta Stockman of Brentwood. His late father is Richard Thomas Stockman. He is also survived by his brother Jim Stockman of Auburn; sister Julie Mathews of Grass Valley; sister Mary Stockman of Redwood City, and two nephews and one niece. Two other nephews passed last year.
Richard was born in Garberville, CA and graduated with a B.S. degree in business from Humboldt State University. He was the owner of DLS Insurance. He died peacefully while doing what he loved. He loved his family, friends, work and his clients and everything to do with fishing, parades, motorcycles, boats, cars, chili cook-offs at the annual corn festival and photography.
I, Diane Stockman, met Rich when I was 24-years-old and he was 27. He had me at his humor. He lived life to the fullest and would never let a moment of life pass by, and truly had a larger-than-life personality. We were married for 31 years (lived in Brentwood for 22 years) and together we weathered all of life’s ups and downs with joy and tears. I could not have asked for a better partner. I will miss you so much Rich. I love you. God bless.
Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Brentwood, Saturday, June 29 at 2 p.m.
