Romano Marchetti passed away peacefully on May 15 at his home in Oakley, California, where he had been battling Parkinson’s disease.
He taught music for 46 years in the Antioch school system, where he dedicated his life to teaching and influencing children of all ages. He also performed with his own band in the San Francisco Bay Area and other musical groups for over 40 years. His expertise as a music teacher and musician also took him all over the world to where he taught for several years overseas.
Romano was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Carol, of 52 years and their son, Andrew.
Romano is also survived by his son, Marcel, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at the VFW Hall, 815 Fulton Shipyard Road, in Antioch on June 26 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
