Ginger Ale, formerly a feral cat on the streets of Hayward, has been fortunate to find a permanent home with this loving family. Ginger Ale is pictured here bonding with one of his new family’s parakeets.

Athena, adopted from a rescuer in Hayward during the pandemic and brought to Brentwood, is now an indoor cat and an integral part of his adopted family. Although he had a rough start in life—he was born into a feral family of cats and was bottle fed soon after he was rescued—he has bounced back and is now definitely well-deserving of the title The Press Pet of the Week.

Molly, an 11-year-old golden retriever, has many talents. She’s a “baller”, a squirrel chaser, an avid camper and, best of all, a 70-pound lap dog, according to her owner. She’s now also The Press Pet of the Week.
