Liberty offensive line coach Rod Beaver holds the unique distinction of roaming the Lions’ sidelines for the past 36 years in various roles, in addition to teaching physical education on campus.

He plans to retire from teaching at the end of this year but has yet to decide if he’ll continue his illustrious coaching career that has spanned eight varsity head coaches and all levels of the football program.

If this turns out to be his last, he’ll depart as a champion with fond memories of the 2018 Lions – a squad he says he’ll remember for its players with natural talent, selfless attitudes and ability to rise above the competition en route to the history books.
