A youth basketball-skills clinic is tipping off in East County.

Former De La Salle High School and Division I college basketball players Jose Rivera and Brandon Thomas will host camps at Adams Middle School in Brentwood in December, January and February. Designed for ages 9 to 16, Rivera and Thomas aim to improve participant’s skills in every facet of the game, including dribbling, passing and shooting.

Thomas, who played for Whittier College, is a professional basketball trainer that has worked with NBA players, including Stephen Curry and Harrison Barnes.
