The Heritage High School football team gave its fans plenty to cheer about in a 49-19 win over Edison (Stockton) on homecoming night.
The Patriots ( 4-0) scored 35 points in the second half to send the Stockton squad away losers.
In other action around the Bay Valley Athletic League, Freedom upped its record to 4-0 in a 40-28 win over San Leandro, Liberty improved to 3-1 with a 60-0 win over Concord, Pittsburg moved to 2-1 on the season with a 62-20 thrashing of Berkeley, Antioch dropped to 3-1 with a 55-22 loss to Clayton Valley Charter and Deer Valley got by Kennedy (Richmond) 34-33 to go to 2-2 on the season.
Looking ahead to next Friday, Deer Valley heads to Clayton Valley Charter, Liberty clashes with Tracy at home, Freedom welcomes Bishop O’Dowd, Newark Memorial comes to Antioch, Heritage travels to Berkeley and Vacaville makes its way to Pittsburg. Heritage’s game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., while Liberty’s will begin at 7:15. All others are slated to kickoff at 7 p.m.
