Spring is almost here, which means it’s time for Biddy Sports T-Ball.
Designed for ages 3 through 5, the class meets Saturdays, April 16 through May 21, at either 9:30 or 10:30 a.m., each week. Children will learn basic skills of baseball in a noncompetitive atmosphere, where they participate at their own level and ability. Participants will develop social skills in a fun, safe and family-oriented environment, while learning to be part of a team.
Each class will include warm-up, practice and game play. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to participate by coaching their child’s team, and no experience is required. The class is divided into one-hour segments.
The fee is $65 for Oakley residents and $75 for nonresidents. Space is limited and preregistration is required. The registration deadline is April 6, unless the program fills prior to that date.
Pickle ball is coming to Oakley beginning in March.
The game, which is like tennis and Ping-Pong put together, is played on a court one-third the size of a tennis court using a paddle and whiffle ball. The sport involves almost no running, making it ideal for players of all ages.
Classes for adults will meet on Wednesdays, March 30 to May 4, from either 8 to 9 a.m. or 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The fee is $48 for Oakley residents and $58 for nonresidents. Pre-registration is required.
